The joint Edxcel GCE Biology course, with context-led (SNAB) and concept-led variants, started September 2008.

The course was piloted in a range of centres from September 2003 onwards.

Since September 2005 the course has been available to all centres. These schools and colleges are scattered all over England and Wales - with some overseas centres too. This is a mixture of comprehensive, grammar, independent and special schools and colleges, both single-sex and mixed.
