SNAB regional support network invitation

Would you like to lead a SNAB cluster?

Palm trees by Lucy Hollis
The 2008 Edexcel specification means that there are lots of new SNAB teachers out there and new centres wanting to be involved.

SNAB clusters have been going for some years, and active groups have been organising meetings to share good practice.

If you would like to lead a SNAB cluster and benefit from a free biology masterclass to get you going, here is what to do. (Masterclass offer limited to the first 10 applicants, and we admit we are hoping for a good regional spread.)

Email Sarah Codrington at the Nuffield SNAB office on scodrington@nuffieldfoundation.org saying that you are interested in leading a cluster.

Free biology masterclass

If you also interested in a masterclass, first find at least 8 biology teachers (and/or technicians), who would like to attend one. It doesn’t matter whether or not they are currently doing SNAB. Then email Sarah Codrington as above. If you are offered a masterclass we will then look for a day when we can provide this and when you and your colleagues can attend.

On the day you’ll need to provide the venue, laboratory facilities with some technician back-up, and some lunch.

The SNAB project team will run a masterclass which will explore active approaches to Advanced Biology and go through some of the topics which teachers find hard to teach and students find hard to learn.
